Launching our new website!

My story starts in mid fall, 2011. After a long awaited discussion about branding of MAK studios, we came to a decision that it was our time. This should take about a month we all agreed. New website, packaging, we needed an overhaul. After a hard critique from someone well respected in the world of marketing, it was obvious that our branding was missing something. US. We had all kinds of information out there about the business, what we have done, could do, but nothing about who we were. Photography is a very personal thing. It is like getting your hair cut. It is hard to open your family, your newborn, kids, etc to a stranger and place trust in them to get the job done. We feel so very blessed to do what we do every day and love the process of getting to know our clients. I have a very hard time opening my life to others. I struggle with social media and how much to reveal about my personal life. After this branding discussion, i learned that I was TOO closed. I needed to open up and reveal my personality so people would know who we were before they stepped in front of our camera.

So, started the process of our new website. A month, ya right. More like 9 months. And THIS is why. It is really hard to convey to people who you are when you aren’t clear yourself. This turned into a journey of self-discovery for us and less about the look of our website. OK, so who are we? We started out asking each other questions, and quickly discovered we didn’t have answers. We searched for pictures of ourselves to use for the website and came up with very little. That prompted a trip to the salon for hair and makeup and lets get this going. Long story short, it has been a very interesting time. But we emerged triumphant with a much firmer grasp on who we were individually and as a team. Thank God for setting us on this path and for making me feel so much more comfortable with myself. Oh, ya, and we think the website rocks too! We hope you enjoy learning a little more about us too! Check it out! www.makstudioimages.com
