Then it hit me. Do I have photos of my own mother? Recent photos of us together? No. And why? Because I was waiting for the perfect time. The perfect look, outfit, weight. I don't even know my latest excuse.
At that moment, was when working with your daughter really comes in handy. Kelly was quick to give my a good swift kick and a stern conversation. Then she marched upstairs and set to on prepping her grandmother for a shoot. I tried to discuss with her, "is this really what we should be focusing on today" and she just gave me that look and replied "yes".
So we finally did it. It wasn't what I planned. I didn't have the perfect outfit. Or any makeup. I wasn't at my perfect weight, my mom had no idea what was about to happen. But the good news is, WE NOW HAVE IMAGES OF MY SWEET MOTHER and Kelly and I are in a few too. I know we have just created something beautiful that will increase in value as time passes. Because this moment in time, we will never get back.
Thanks to my dd for giving me the courage to think outside the box. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to my mom.
